In this video, I share tips on how to increase social media engagement by creating effective posts. The advertising techniques discussed here will help you draw people in and make them want to listen to your message.
The first tip is to tell a story that ultimately offers a lesson or a takeaway. For example, I’ll soon be hosting the former head of branding for Richard Branson, who will talk about her three strategies for how to find opportunity in this market. But it wouldn’t be a story if I told it this way.
In order to make it more engaging, I could talk about how we met and what I was able to learn from her 10-week course. By sharing the insight I gained from her course, and by explaining how she came into my life, social media engagement would be much more likely.
One of the other advertising techniques that will boost your engagement online is knowing how to delay the punchline. What do I mean by this? Well, I could tell you that I’ll be hosting a woman who’ll be giving a talk on women-only artists; but that would just be information.
To make it more interesting, I could start off by describing one of the artists the speaker will be talking about, and how this artist’s work has come to be influenced by the sexual abuse she experienced as a child. This adds depth to your understanding of this artist and helps draw you in.
By using the right advertising techniques in your posts, you can greatly increase the amount of social media engagement you receive. By using stories in your posts, your online following will grow.
