Tanzania is aiming to boost tourist numbers to 1.5 million by 2017. The East African country has embarked on a global marketing campaign that helped boost tourism by 4 percent last year. While the island of Zanzibar’s sandy beaches have long been a popular tourist destination, Tanzania is working to attract more international tourists to other regions in the country.
